EPS Geofoam Blocks
Elite Foam Products block-molds EPS geofoam for civil, geotechnical, and structural fill applications, serving customers throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Texas. Geofoam gives engineers and contractors a lightweight alternative to soil, sand, or gravel fill — weighing a fraction of traditional fill materials while still providing the compressive strength required for the application.
Because we mold our own geofoam in-house, we control density and dimensional consistency block by block, which matters when your design calls for a specific compressive strength at a specific location in the fill.
Our geofoam is manufactured to meet ASTM D6817 certification standards, giving engineers and building officials the documented code compliance they require.
What is EPS Geofoam?
Geofoam is rigid, closed-cell expanded polystyrene manufactured in large blocks for use as lightweight fill in construction and civil engineering projects. Unlike loose fill materials, geofoam is manufactured off-site to consistent dimensions and density, then delivered to the job site ready to place — cutting down on the equipment, labor, and time typically required for traditional fill placement.
Because geofoam weighs only a small fraction of what soil or gravel weighs, it dramatically reduces the load placed on underlying soils and structures — which is often the entire point of specifying it in the first place.
Applications
- Roadway and highway embankment fill
- Void fill over utilities and underground structures
- Retaining wall backfill (load reduction)
- Bridge abutment fill
- Slope stabilization
- Landscape and hardscape substructure (rooftop gardens, pool decks, plaza decks)
- Athletic and stadium seating substructure
- Any application where reducing load on the substrate is a design priority
Why Engineers and Contractors Choose Our Geofoam
ASTM D6817 Certified — Meets ASTM D6817 standard for geofoam application.
Consistent Compressive Strength — Block molding in-house means the density — and therefore the compressive strength — stays consistent from block to block, which matters when your design is engineered around a specific load rating.
Cut to Your Dimensions — Geofoam is typically specified by project, not pulled off a shelf. We custom-cut blocks to the dimensions your plans call for, in the density that matches your engineered load requirements.
Lightweight, Fast to Install — Blocks can be placed by hand or light equipment, cutting down on heavy machinery and labor on site.
Centrally Located for the Southwest — Molded here in North Las Vegas and shipped throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Texas — shorter lead times and less risk to your schedule than sourcing from a supplier outside the region.
